On August 16, 2023, CZ posted something benign. "Keep them coming!" β about a cat contest. The internet moved on.
But when the exchange's name got written down that night, one letter was gone. BINANCE had become BINANCAT.
"Typo," said some. "Rebrand," joked others. Nobody checked the paws. Nobody asked why the letter E was last seen walking toward a bowl of milk.
The truth is simple, and it has whiskers: the cat ate the E. And it has been hiding in plain sight in the brand's own name ever since.
